With the recent crackdown of Google on duplicate articles and spun articles, many businesses that run article marketing are scrambling to realign their strategies with the new Google algorithm.

Old internet marketers have long relied on article submissions as a means to generate free traffic to their websites. The reason is clear: article marketing is the most cost-effective marketing method available out there. It is also readily available to anyone regardless of marketing budget. The process is simple: Write as many articles as you can; distribute them to as many article banks, ezine publishing and article directories; and generate traffic to your website.
Submitting articles to several hundred article directories does not constitute spam. This has prompted Google to step up, hunt down and remove permanently from their index unreadable and spun articles and all articles that do not constitute as “unique.”

The new algorithm might give an impression that Google is a Big Bad Wolf blowing down all online businesses, but that is hardly the case. If you look at it closely, the new algorithm is, in fact, great if you have long been doing the right article online marketing. It eliminates many “SEO experts” from the competition since their articles have been trashed. This is also a great opportunity for internet marketers to guarantee fresh, unique and quality articles to readers. In a sense, Google’s new algorithm will help correct the long-time problem of honest internet marketers who just want to have a level playing field.
Online marketers have to start acting like true professionals and get serious about building their businesses on a solid foundation of unique and desirable content. All articles banned by the new algorithm are useless. It is time to rebuild the reputation of most website’s in general around honest article marketing that provides informative, quality content to readers. It is the perfect time to create unique content that can set the business apart from the competition. It is now the battle of who has quality and not just the battle of who has the largest budget. As a result, everyone has a fair chance of hitting the number one spot and readers are guaranteed that every time they search, they are getting exactly what Google wants them to be getting, unique and useful content.
